Two Mallus, one dating app, and a whole lot of destiny! Ancy’s on-again-off-again relationship with Dil Mil finally paid off when she matched with Princeton. Talk about perfect timing – he was a day away from deleting the app when the universe matched them cross-country in Summer 2019 which changed everything.
He was in Chicago while she was in Houston when it happened and while they both were on the look out for a connection within the Desi community, they were pleasantly surprised to find someone specifically from within the Kerala community called Knanaya. Ancy was Knanaya Jacobite (Syrian Orthodox) and Princeton was Knanaya Catholic. Although they came from slightly different religions, both practiced the traditions of the Knanaya community, which drew them together. In fact their decision to swipe right on each other was heavily influenced by the fact they had both stated they were Knanaya in their bios.
After three months of talking, Princeton and Ancy finally got to meet in person. The stars aligned when Princeton got invited to a wedding in Houston providing the perfect opportunity for him to see her. The moment was electric – as Ancy picked Princeton up from the wedding event, his excitement got the better of him. Instead of a gentle hug, Princeton practically tackled Ancy in a burst of enthusiasm. It was clear from this endearingly awkward first encounter that something special was blossoming.
Princeton’s Dil Mil bio was reflective of his love for tacos: “I just want someone to look at me the way I look at tacos.” Ancy, intrigued, fired off a cheesy taco pun (now lost to the annals of time). Fast forward to their first date in Houston: post-tackle, Ancy whisked Princeton on a 40-minute taco pilgrimage to Velvet Taco. There, amidst the heavenly aroma of spices and tortillas, they dove into conversation – from family drama to Bollywood beats. It was a night seasoned with laughter, sprinkled with shared interests, and wrapped in the warm tortilla of new love. It´s also the moment he knew that she is the one; not just because of the tacos haha, but because he saw her pour so much love and effort into the date by going above and beyond to make him happy.
The next day, before Princeton jetted back to Chicago, they met for a brunch that packed a punch. Both ordered spicy honey chicken biscuits, discovering their shared love for fiery flavors. As the heat from their meal lingered, so did the warmth of their connection. They decided to take things slow, savoring each moment like a perfectly seasoned dish. A month of simmering chemistry later, when Ancy visited Princeton in Chicago, he popped the question – not for marriage, but to make it official. Ancy’s response? As sweet as honey, as bold as their brunch choice!
In Summer 2020, a year into dating, Princeton pulled off the ultimate surprise proposal at Houston’s Gerald D Hines Water Wallnot. He sneakily dropped off a dress at Ancy’s house, then called her with a cryptic message about it. Little did she know, he was already in town, ready to pop the question! As Ancy got dolled up, Princeton waited at the water wall, heart racing. Her unsuspecting sister and brother-in-law played accomplice, delivering the bride-to-be right into Princeton’s flower-and-ring-wielding arms. Cue the “Yes!” and the snap-happy photographer capturing every swoon-worthy moment.
But wait, there’s more! Back at her sister’s house, Princeton had another trick up his sleeve – a heartwarming video from their families and friends, who couldn’t be there due to the pandemic. Absolute tear-jerker! It was a day of pure joy and love, second only to their wedding day (spoiler alert: that was pretty awesome and wholesome too). While the pre-wedding planning process was rather hectic and strenuous due to the unpredictability of Covid, their big day in August 2021 went ahead as planned, and they managed to celebrate with a whopping 500 guests, all of whom had a safe and wonderful time.
Talking about a wedding day to remember.. Princeton’s ring pulled a Houdini act, vanishing into thin air before the ceremony. But hey, who needs a ring when you’ve got love, right? The newlyweds didn’t let this hiccup dampen their spirits. They partied like rock stars, complete with a party bus and traditional South Indian drums setting the beat. The dance floor was on fire all night, with both Princeton and Ancy surprising guests with solo performances. Who knew Ancy had moves? It was a night of non-stop celebration, unexpected twists, and unforgettable memories.
After tying the knot, Princeton and Ancy embarked on their next adventure and made Dallas, TX their new stomping ground. From the first “hello,” sparks flew! Their connection felt like reuniting with an old friend – comfortable, exciting, and full of laughter. Their first date? A rollercoaster of delightful randomness that set the tone for their entire relationship. It’s been a wild, wonderful ride ever since, and they wouldn’t change a single moment of their quirky love story. After all, who needs perfection when you’ve got tales to tell till the end of time AND a beautiful Dil Mil baby to cherish forever (born in Fall´23)?! Talk about a happily ever after with a dash of adventure and a sprinkle of baby powder!
