Mansheel and Samir were looking for something real. So, they both individually hopped onto Dil Mil in Australia to give it a try. Eventually, they both matched.
Right off the bat, Mansheel and Samir instantly connected. Although they were cities apart, with Samir being in Sydney while Mansheel lived in Melbourne, they still hit it off and continued to get to know each other. Both partners were looking for the same thing, their future, partners, which made initial conversation easier. Instant connection was a big factor at the beginning of their relationship. The two got along extremely quickly and found themselves sending each other long text messages about anything and everything under the sun. And somehow, they still found more things to talk about! They both felt extremely comfortable with each other from the beginning, and they were able to laugh with and enjoy each other to the max.
Mansheel and Samir spoke to each other largely over text messages over the course of 4 months, especially during the COVID-19 Lockdown, when borders between the two cities were closed to avoid further spread of COVID. Once the borders opened, however, Mansheel booked her ticket to Sydney, and within 5 days of the borders opening, she was on her way to meet him for the first time.
Upon her arrival in Sydney, Mansheel found herself to be extremely nervous to meet Samir for the first time. However, her nerves instantly melted when they met in person. Samir arrived at the airport to pick Mansheel up and drop her to her hotel. The drive to the hotel was extremely comfortable, and matched the energy that the duo exchanged over the phone. It felt like the two of them had known each other for years, even if it was the first time they were meeting, and Mansheel found Samir to be the exact same person he was over text. Mansheel knew within a month of meeting Samir that he was the one for her.
Since they first met, Mansheel and Samir haven’t spent more than a week apart from each other. Mansheel moved to Sydney from Melbourne after 4 months of meeting him and the duo became inseparable. Often, they’d do a 9 hour road trip from Sydney to Melbourne, and never get tired of each other – spending their time laughing, listening to Punjabi songs and alien-themed podcasts together. Although not being able to infer each other’s mannerisms and behaviors due to interacting with each other only over the phone initially made things challenging at the beginning, taking the risk to meet in person after all that long distance paid off greatly.
Now, the duo is married and are still spending as much time together as possible. They have found their life partners and are looking forward to continuing building on their relationship and a beautiful life full of connection and love together!
